Blog updates.

Hello everyone,

We took some downtime we had today and did a little work to the blog to add some spit and polish.

First we removed a lot of outdated information and removed some dead links in the sidebar.

Next we added the VIT CRT Network Prezi presentation to the "Who We Are" page in order to supply some deeper information about VIT CRT Networks.

We also added a few buttons and things around the place:
  • There is now a tool in the right hand sidebar to subscribe to this blog via email (you will recieve eMail notifications of new blog posts but not new pages or other blog updates).
  • We added the "Follow This Blog" tool to the left hand side bar to allow people with Google accounts to show their support for the Network.
  • We added Share buttons to posts; You can now share posts to Twitter, Facebook and Google+ (as well as email or reblog posts).
We have done this to promote a greater level of connectivity within the Goulburn Valley CRT community.

Under the new Australian Professional Standards for Teachers an emphasis is placed on belonging to, being active in or creating/maintaining Professional and Community Networks (Standard 7.4).  We have added these features to allow CRTs to pursue these avenues outside the boundaries of the PD workshops and seminars we provide by connecting with each other online through Social Media sites (such as Facebook and Google+).

We fully understand that this won't be for everyone but have decided to include these features for those of you who would like to take advantage of them.

Please note:  We are keeping to Wendy's intentions for the blog which are primarily local PD workshop/seminar centric in nature.  If you would like a more editorial approach we invite all Shepparton CRT Support Netowrk members to take advantage of the same features on the Wodonga CRT Support Network blog.
