Session 1 ~ How to get your PD Hours Up, presented by Wendy Humphrey
* Use your PD Log - include dates and hours, and make sure you write a "reflection" w.r.t your PD and your professional teaching practice.
* Attend PD sessions when you can.
* Ask Principal/s to be included on the staff email for the school/s that you work at often, and suggest that other CRTs would also benefit from this!
* Regularly check our fantastic blog right here for up to date PD Information & Resources
* Always keep on hand a copy of iTEACH Sep 2008 as your official VIT Document.
I will scan and include Wendy's brilliant summary - Important Aspects from this iTEACH Article.
We were very fortunate to have the lovely Mel from the Wodonda CRT Support Network attend our day as well. Mel also had her fantastic Professional Teaching Portfolio from Creatal Publishing on hand to demonstrate a concise and well laid out format to maintain your Professional Learning over the 5 year re-registration period (great to have it all in one organised place as well, should you be called on during the "audit" process!)

Session 3 ~ ICT, presented by Jackie Stockdale & Giles Pritchard from St George's Road PS.
A very informative and hands on session that looked at implementing ICT in the classroom as a CRT / ET. You no longer need to fear that "Interactive Whiteboard" or "Smart Board" at the front of the Classroom! I hope that you feel empowered now to have a go and continue to learn and develop your skills using this fantastic technological device!
* Make sure it's CALIBRATED before you start your day! If in doubt, get the students to help you set it up!
* Remember one person at a time, one place at a time!
Enjoy exploring more the wonderful software tools that we looked at today!

Photostory (Great for 3-4)
"Photo Story 3 is a free program that allows you to create stunning multimedia presentations from digital photographs. You can add great effects such as zooming into a photo or scanning across a scene. Transitions between pictures can be added as can text and special colour and texture effects. You can add music to your presentation from an existing source or better still, make your own from within the program. The presentation can be saved as something you might watch on a DVD or small enough that you could email it, or post it on your website to share!"
